Giving DJ Four "Moore" Years and the Business Savvy of Ryan Poles

The Chicago Bears and DJ Moore inked the largest contract in franchise history via a 4 year extension worth $110,000,000.00. $82.6 million of this is guaranteed which according to ESPN makes DJ Moore the first NFL receiver to have the first ten years of his NFL career guaranteed. Ryan Poles and the Bears front office continue to prove that maybe, just maybe, things are different this year.
During today's press conference at Halas Hall DJ Moore stated that he "loves the security" of his contract. He praised the Bears by saying that the "organization embraced me as soon as I got here" and that it has been "nothing but love". He continued by touting Caleb Williams as a regular season starter. He said that he's "rocking with" Caleb and that ever since training camp started he's diced up the defense. Moore would go on to say that Caleb listens to his team and he actively tries to learn and grow which has already resulted in his progression as an NFL ready quarterback. These sentiments are a far cry from when he was first brought over to the Bears. Speaking on when he was being traded to Chicago Moore said "when I first got the call I was like, ah shit". I don't blame you for that one, I don't think any of us do. The fact that the Bears can manage to bring in a top producing receiver - to a place where receivers go to die, and then have him sign what has become a 6 year franchise record breaking deal; I just might start having some hope for this front office.
If you couldn't tell I'm really surprised this contract was signed by the Bears, let alone even thought of by the Bears. DJ Moore had this year before becoming a free agent. When have the Bears had any sense of urgency or financial savvy to keep offensive players around? When do the Bears ever put real money on the table? True Bear Claw VIP members (coming soon with $50 weekly subscription fee like all true sports blogs) would know that Caleb Williams was given "real" money in his rookie deal via my first article. Ryan Poles also concocted one of the greatest trades in NFL history that gave us DJ Moore, Caleb Williams, Darnell Wright, Tyrique Stevenson, a 2025 2nd round pick, and Tory Taylor (who is on international status and thus not a part of the 90 man roster, incredible stuff). Keeping all of this in mind for context, I guess it shouldn't be too surprising. This is one serious front office, it just might take some time to get used to.
Poles shouldn't let his foot off the gas for a single second. His next move needs to be signing Matthew Judon. That's right, it is still Wednesday and I'm giving my Wednesday Waiver signing suggestions/predictions. Judon is an outside linebacker with the Patriots and if you've followed any NFL rumors you'd know he is not happy with New England. In case you don't keep up - the Patriots allegedly offered him a new contract; Judon said they didn't. He also hasn't made it any secret he's open to signing elsewhere after missing practice causing further disruption in New England. Judon is an effective pass rusher (hello Eric Washington and your goal to have the best pass rush this year) and would add a lot of depth to this Bears defense. I could see a scenario in which he and Gervon Dexter Sr become serious threats to any QB's bone strength. I do not think that Ryan Poles is done "making moves" this preseason, and I would like to see Judon signed to the Bears as part of those moves.
What do you think Bears or non-Bears fans (sources tell me we might have a couple Packer fans lurking on this site...), would you have signed DJ Moore to that deal? Would you pursue Matthew Judon or another outside linebacker?

Important issue as that’s gotta take up a lotta cap space. Although it conveniently ends when Caleb would need to sign his mega contract. 10 years $1 billion?
I can’t say I knew of DJ Moore before he came to the Bears (but also screw his “ah shit” comment as he came from one of the few worse teams than the bears. I’d have to look at his stats more but $110 mil is a lot of buckaboos the last time I checked inflation.
Gotta give it to Poles though, he’s been shaking things up and not making the bears boring. Making moves like he has the mindset.
Also I’d like to hear more about Tory Taylor’s “international status” lol
