Thirsty Thursday - HOF Game vs Texans

bearclawupdates

I still cannot believe that I am this excited to watch backups play sloppy football. If you had asked me 4 months ago - "Are you going to watch the Bears preseason games?" I would have probably said "No, I'm not a complete psychopath". Yet here we are Bears fans, it is a sweltering day in Chicago on a Thursday evening and I could not be more excited to watch some backups play football. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in! That first snap is going to hit harder than an ice cold beer after helping a friend move his couch up 4 flights of stairs (you know who you are).

I am not at a bar today, I'm hosting my family but do not worry - the beer will still be flowing. This Thirsty Thursday I want to see wide recievers Rome Odunze and Tyler Scott combine for five touchdowns in this game. I do not have qualms on the backup QB position, Bagent's time last year proved to me that he is a certified NFL backup. Sorry Brent Rypien but you just don't have it in you. We have a 4th round pick (Tyler Scott) that has been electric to watch all training camp and the 2024 9th pick overall (Rome Odunze) battling it out against the Texan's new CB Kamari Lassiter (former UGA Bulldog), how could you not want to tune into that? Calling it now, Odunze 75 yard game and Scott 80 yard game. I'm bullish on DJ Moore and Keenan Allen this season but I'm looking for some comfort in our 2nd place guys today.

Lastly, I want to see a competent center. This has been a sore spot for us in years past. We still don't know if we'll see Ryan Bates or Coleman Shelton in the regular season. I'm not even sure who we'll see today (let me know in the comments who you think we'll see, too amped up to google it). Quite frankly, I don't even care who is playing today I just want to see someone play center like they're made out of cinder blocks. Cinder blocks that are still agile. And have good footwork. You get the point - we desperately need a good center.

Log out, crack open a frosty Miller Lite (no free ads) and enjoy some football on your TV screen. Sure, its backups, but its football and the season will be over before you know it.

Bagent putting in that WORK during the offseason. Stud.
